Gisella

Born in Burgenland, Austria.  In those days, things were very bleak in Austria, and people wanted to live in America.  In order to come here, someone had to sponsor you.  Luckily, her grandparents lived here and sponsored her.  Her family let her go because there were seven children in her family.  She loved the boat ride over here.

When she came here, she met a fellow Austrian at an Austrian club at 53rd and Justine in Chicago.  They danced, fell in love, and were married.  Austria is famous for their waltzes, and she taught her grandchildren how to waltz.  On most days, Gisella spends time outside on a park bench, looking out over the pond, soaking up the sun.

You never will find Gisella without a smile on her face.
